Oliv AI - Improving UX with a complete revamp
This case study will highlight my UI/UX and Gen AI design skills
Design system and UI revamp
Before
Problems
Oliv's UI had these problems:
The Font Used - Being a text heavy app, the font did not help with the readability and made the text look cluttered. The font size was also smaller than standard.
Colors - Oliv's primary color was green, which constantly collided with the semantic success color.
Design system - Oliv used a customized Blueprint DS, the components of which had an outdated style
After
Solution
Design system - Completely migrated the app the Ant DS. Ant had to be customized to fit Oliv's UI demands.
Colors - Oliv's scalability can be compared to Salesforce, there could be N number of use cases and applications. So we chose a generic blue as the primary color.
Aesthetic usability - We wanted users to be attracted to Oliv. So we tried a Glassmorphism style layout for the whole app. Although this had success with initial user testing, we need to closely observe people's opinion of this and adjust/simplify the style if it proves to be a distracting to the users.
Calendar screen revamp
Context
There are two personas that use the calendar screen:
Sales reps: They use it to plan their day. 80% of the time they're interested only on the day's work and schedule, but sometimes they would want to see the previous and the following days meetings to make sure they wrapped up and prepared for them.
Sales managers: They use the screen to plan their own day, and also see their team's meetings to understand their schedule. They would also want to know some quick overview of the deals associated with the meetings so they can help the reps proactively wherever possible.
The calendar screen in Oliv did not address the use case of the sales manager initially.
